Argentina is not for sale

“Argentina is not for sale” is a personal and independent design project. The series of posters is inspired by the graphic style of the protest posters from the Voicot group, characterized by the use of one or two colors, large typography, and colorful backgrounds. Typography takes prominence; the use of uppercase letters and color contrast create impact and add strength to the message. In Argentina, in recent years, this style has gained relevance as a form of political expression to highlight and amplify issues in public spaces, due to its low production cost.

The composition and colors of the posters mimic the Argentine flag, reinforcing the message of national identity and pride. The inflated and distorted typography, on the verge of bursting, reflects the current volatile situation in Argentina and references a popular phrase among Javier Milei’s supporters at the beginning of his term, "let everything explode," which symbolizes their support for the possibility of a drastic change in the country, at the expense of the poorest and working-class sectors. The English translation of these three slogans, which have become popular in various protests since the new government took office, aims to highlight Argentina's critical situation to an international audience.

El mató a un policía motorizado

This series of posters is a personal project that was inspired by the Argentine indie band "El Mató a un Policía Motorizado.” Each poster reflects the personal emotions evoked by their music. The selected songs are anthems for the millennial audience, which is why the graphic style of these posters draws inspiration from Microsoft Paint—a nostalgic software for many who grew up in the late '90s and early 2000s. This stylistic choice bridges the gap between the band’s lyrical themes and the visual representation of their songs.

Lisboa

This poster series is inspired by the unique visual elements of Lisbon, Portugal, captured during a personal exploration of the city. The design is centered around the use of diagonals, a prominent feature both in the selected images and in the city’s urban landscape. These diagonals, reflected in the patterns of traditional Portuguese tiles, the cables of the iconic trams, and the natural slopes of Lisbon’s streets, are used to guide the viewer’s eye and convey the dynamic energy of the city.

The compositions emphasize this diagonal movement, creating a sense of fluidity and complexity that mirrors the experience of navigating Lisbon’s vibrant urban environment. The vibrant color palette, combined with minimalist sans-serif typography, reinforces the modern and energetic character of Lisbon. Each poster serves as a visual narrative, reinterpreting everyday elements of the city to reveal new connections and perspectives.

Ultimately, this series seeks to encapsulate the essence of Lisbon by highlighting its distinctive architectural and cultural features through a modern, dynamic lens, inviting viewers to see the city in a new light.
