Epéntica is a DJ whose name is rooted in the poetic world of García Lorca. In phonology, epenthesis is the addition of a sound within a word—an intentional intrusion that alters its form. Lorca used the term “epentismo” in his letters and writings as a coded reference to homosexuality, embedding hidden meaning within language.

Lorca’s work was a profound inspiration for Epéntica at the beginning of her musical journey and remains deeply intertwined with her identity. His poetry, symbolism, and rebellious spirit shaped the essence of her project, influencing both her sound and artistic vision.

Inspired by Lorca’s handwriting and illustration style, I designed a custom logo that captures both the fluidity of sound and the expressive, organic nature of his visual language. The result is a wordmark that feels ethereal and handcrafted, yet contemporary—a reflection of Epéntica’s roots, sonic identity, and ever-evolving creative world.

For Epéntica’s new mix series, I created a set of cover artworks inspired by the phases of the moon: Luna Nueva, Cuarto Creciente, Luna Llena, and Cuarto Menguante. The visuals explore light and shadow, using soft gradients and glowing hues to evoke a sense of movement and transformation. Each phase represents a distinct atmosphere, much like the evolution of a DJ set, where sound ebbs and flows, building towards moments of intensity and release. 

The Epéntica logo takes center stage in this series as a deliberate choice. Since the first mix was released alongside the rebrand, making the logo a focal point reinforced the new identity, ensuring immediate recognition and strong visual impact. The celestial aesthetic aligns with the mysticism of the name Epéntica, creating a cohesive bridge between music and visuals.
